These terms govern your use of Common Strangers. By creating an account or publishing here, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Who can join

You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. One account per person. Do not impersonate someone else, and do not use a username designed to be mistaken for another member or for the site itself.

You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.

Your work stays yours

You keep full copyright in everything you publish here. Nothing on this page transfers ownership.

By publishing, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host your work, display it on the site, and feature it in the site’s own promotional material — for example an announcement of a new drop. This licence exists only so that we can legally show your work; it ends when the work is removed from the site.

We will always credit you by your username. We will not sell your work, license it to third parties, or use it in paid advertising without asking you first.

What you promise about what you publish

When you submit something, you confirm that:

  • it is yours, or you have permission from whoever owns it;
  • any people identifiable in it have agreed to appear;
  • publishing it breaks no law and infringes nobody’s rights.

What is not allowed

  • Anything illegal under Greek or EU law.
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form. This results in immediate removal and a report to the authorities.
  • Content that incites hatred or violence against people for who they are, or that harasses, threatens or targets an individual.
  • Other people’s work passed off as your own.
  • Private information about others published without their consent.
  • Spam, advertising, malware, or attempts to break, overload or probe the site.

Moderation

Everything submitted is reviewed by a person before it appears. We may decline a submission, or remove something already published, at our discretion and without notice — most often because of the rules above, occasionally because it simply does not fit the platform.

We are not obliged to explain a decision, though we usually will if you ask. Repeated or serious breaches lead to the account being closed.

If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to [CONTACT EMAIL] with a link and a description, and we will look at it promptly.

Uploads

Images up to 5 MB, audio up to 20 MB. Video is not uploaded — it is embedded from YouTube or Vimeo, and remains subject to their terms. We may compress or resize files so pages stay usable.

Comments

Comments are open to registered members and are reviewed before they appear. The rules above apply to them in full.

Events and the Agenda

Listings in the Agenda are published for information. Dates, venues and prices can change, and events run by other people are their responsibility, not ours. Check with the organiser before you travel.

Closing your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Work you have already published stays up unless you ask us to remove that too — just say so and we will.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Availability and liability

The site is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will always be available, or that nothing will ever be lost — keep your own copies of your work.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Members are responsible for what they publish. Views expressed in publications and comments are those of their authors.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and significant changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by Greek law, and the courts of [CITY], Greece have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
